Our Services
High-performance building for people and place.
We offer a focused range of services built around one core commitment — doing the work properly. Whether you’re building from the ground up, renovating an existing home, or seeking expert advice on performance, Cultivate brings the same standard of care to every engagement.
Our Approach
“We don’t chase volume. We take on the right projects and build them to the standard they deserve — every time.”

Custom Build
Our custom build service is for clients who want a home that performs and endures — thermally, environmentally, and architecturally. We build to Passive House principles as standard: airtight, well-insulated, carefully detailed, and thoroughly tested.
But performance is only part of what we deliver. We build homes of genuine architectural quality — complex details resolved with precision, custom joinery and finishes executed with craft, and a standard of workmanship that reflects the full ambition of the design. No detail is too hard. No specification is beyond us.
Every material is selected for its performance, health impact, embodied carbon, and visual quality. The result is a home that doesn’t just perform — it endures, and it’s something to be proud of.
- Passive House design and construction
- High-performance building envelope — airtight, thermally resolved, tested
- Architectural detailing executed to the highest standard — no detail is too complex
- Custom joinery, bespoke finishes, and precision carpentry
- Seamless integration of structure, services, and finish
- Natural and low-tox material selection — beautiful and healthy
- Integrated mechanical ventilation and services coordination
- Full project delivery and management from groundworks to handover
Integrated Delivery
Design & Build
Our design-build service brings the design and construction teams together from the very beginning — closing the gap between architectural intent and construction reality. We operate on an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) model: the builder is at the table before documentation is finalised, contributing real-world construction knowledge to design decisions before they become expensive commitments.
ECI means buildability is considered from day one, materials and methods are resolved before they’re drawn, and cost certainty is established early rather than discovered late. When builders are involved in design, performance decisions are better, details are more resolved, and the build runs more smoothly.
We work with aligned architects and building designers to deliver fully integrated projects — one team, responsible for vision and execution together. No misaligned drawings, no performance compromises, no budget surprises from late-stage design changes.
- Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) from concept stage
- Builder input into design decisions before they’re locked
- Cost certainty established early — no late-stage surprises
- Buildability reviewed at every design stage
- Performance and detailing resolved before documentation
- Single point of accountability from design through to handover
- Coordinated design, engineering, and construction delivery
Existing Homes
Renovations
A well-executed renovation is an opportunity to fundamentally improve how a home performs and how it looks and feels to live in. We bring exactly the same standard of care, technical knowledge, and architectural precision to existing homes as we do to new construction.
We engage early in the design process — working with your architect or designer from the outset so that structural, performance, and buildability considerations shape the design rather than constrain it. Complex details, intricate joinery, and high-spec architectural finishes are our standard, not our exception.
Whether it’s a full home renovation, a considered addition, or a targeted performance upgrade — the outcome will be a home that is better in every way than when we arrived.
- Whole-home and partial renovations
- Additions and extensions
- Thermal envelope and airtightness performance upgrades
- Complex architectural detailing and custom finishes
- Custom joinery and bespoke built-in elements
- Early contractor involvement in renovation design
- Structural integration and services coordination
Wellbeing-Focused
Healthy Homes
The materials a home is built from directly affect the health of the people living inside it. Volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde off-gassing, moisture accumulation, and inadequate ventilation are documented contributors to poor indoor air quality — and they’re all outcomes of the choices made during construction.
We take a technically rigorous approach to healthy building. Every material we specify is assessed against established low-toxicity and low-emission standards. Ventilation is engineered for real air quality outcomes, not just code compliance. Moisture management is designed in from the envelope out. The result is a home that is measurably healthier — not just marketed as such.
- Low-VOC and low-emission material specification — tested, not assumed
- Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) — engineered for real air quality
- Moisture control and mould prevention designed into the envelope
- Formaldehyde-free structural materials and finishes
- Natural and reclaimed material prioritisation — timber, stone, clay, lime
- Thermal comfort without dependence on mechanical conditioning
- Water quality — filtration and quality-conscious fixture specification
